Making of a Tunic for a Roman Soldier

If you have never sewn a garment. My next few blogs will show the steps for making the red tunic for a Roman Soldier. I will be using this pattern.
First step. Trimming the pattern pieces.
Second step. Iron the pattern pieces so that they lay straight.
This is the suggested layout for the pattern pieces. Since I have enjoyed sewing since I was a teen, I knew that I could conserve material by staying with the straight of grain and move them closer together.
The next few pictures show the pieces on the material. Pinned waiting on the scissors.
The next step is to cut out the pieces. The next few pieces show my progress.

The last two pieces are pinned and the scissors are ready to cut it out.

All the pieces are cut out. Now, it's time to move on to sewing them together. Stay tuned to the next blog.
